Terms & Conditions

The rules for using FastLab's chat app and API. Please read them; using FastLab means you accept them.

The short version

  • FastLab is free to use, changes often, and may sometimes be unavailable.
  • What you put in and get out is yours. You're responsible for it, and for using it lawfully.
  • AI answers can be wrong. Check anything important before you rely on it.
  • We may suspend accounts that misuse the service.

01Agreeing to these terms

These terms apply when you use FastLab: the chat app at fastlab.app, the API at api.fastlab.app, shared chat pages and anything else we offer under the FastLab name (together, "the service"). By creating an account, signing in or otherwise using the service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information and is part of these terms.

02The service

FastLab lets you chat with AI models we run on our own computers, attach files and images, search the web, generate images and use the same models through an API. It is currently free of charge. We are continually changing it: we may add, change or remove features, and the service may be slow or unavailable at times, for example during maintenance. We don't promise any particular availability.

03Your account

  • You must be at least 13, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live (or have a parent or guardian agree for you).
  • Give accurate details and keep them current. One account is for one person.
  • Keep your password, and any API key you are given, secret. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at [email protected] straight away if you think someone else has used it.
  • If your organisation's administrator created your account, they can manage it, and your organisation's own rules may apply as well.

04Acceptable use

Don't use the service to:

  • Break the law, or help anyone else break it.
  • Create or share sexual content involving minors, or any content that exploits or endangers children.
  • Harass, threaten, defame or promote violence or hatred against people.
  • Create malware, phishing, spam or other material meant to deceive or harm.
  • Infringe other people's rights, including copyright and privacy, for example by sharing their personal information without a right to.
  • Try to get around limits or security, gain access to accounts or data that aren't yours, probe or overload our systems, or scrape the service other than through the API.
  • Pretend to be someone else, or present AI output as human-written where that would mislead people.
  • Make decisions with serious effects on people (medical, legal, financial, employment) based on AI output alone, without qualified human review.

We may remove shared links, limit use or suspend accounts that break these rules, and report illegal content to the authorities.

05Your content

What you put into the service (messages, files, images) and what it produces for you are yours, as far as the law allows. You give us permission to store, process and display them only as needed to run the service for you: for example to answer you, to keep the memories you allow, and to show chats you share to the people who have the link.

You are responsible for what you submit and share, and you confirm you have the right to use it. Shared links are public to anyone who has them, so don't share anything you want kept private.

06AI output

AI models make mistakes. Their answers can be wrong, incomplete, out of date or offensive, and similar answers may be given to other people. Output is not professional advice. Check anything that matters before you rely on it; you are responsible for how you use it.

07Our service and others' rights

The FastLab name, app and software belong to us or our licensors. These terms don't give you any right to them beyond using the service. The models are made by third parties and used under their licenses. Web search results and links lead to sites we don't control and aren't responsible for. Sign in with Google is subject to Google's own terms.

08Suspension and ending

You can stop using FastLab at any time and ask us at [email protected] to delete your account. We may suspend or close an account, or stop offering the service, if these terms are broken, to protect the service or other people, or if we stop running FastLab. Where reasonable, we will tell you first. Chats stored in your browser stay there; export them from Settings if you want a copy.

09Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, we give no warranties, express or implied, including that it will be accurate, uninterrupted, secure or fit for a particular purpose.

10Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the 12 months before the claim. The service is free, so that amount is currently zero.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or takes away rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.

11Responsibility for misuse

If you break these terms or the law while using the service and someone makes a claim against us because of it, you agree to cover the losses and reasonable costs that result, as far as the law allows.

12Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. We will change the date at the top, and tell you in the app or by email before significant changes take effect. If you keep using FastLab after that, the new terms apply.

13Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the place where FastLab's operator is established, and its courts decide disputes about them. If you use FastLab as a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and may also bring proceedings there.
